The highlight of our weekend was the Drive-In Movie Theater. Eric came home from work on Friday and had found a Drive-In only 30 minutes away with the new Wall-E movie playing. We told the kids we were going to do something special on Saturday night and it was something they had never done before. It was something Eric hadn't done before either. I remember going to a Drive-In when I was a kid and seeing the Gremlins. The kids were very excited and their little minds were spinning trying to figure out what we were going to do.
We borrowed our friends truck and piled tons of pillows and blankets in the back. It was a perfect night and then kids were very excited when we got there. There was so much to take in they just didn't know what to think.
Getting all cozy and ready for the movie!
Daddy and his girls!!! The girls were talking daddy's ear of with excitement!
And then there is nothing like a daddy and his boy!
Do you think Alexa and Shane look excited?
We were there an hour early to make sure we had a good spot and to get all settled. The kids were quite the entertainment for the vehicles around us. The couple next to us thought the kids were the cutest things and the kids talked their ear off. They went to get some food and came back with some Pop Rocks for the kids. I remember this candy as a kid but our kids had never had it. They thought all the popping in their mouth was so funny! Shane couldn't eat it fast enough and check out Emma's reaction below!
All cozy and ready for the movie to start!
What a view! A movie with the sun set in the background! This was a family highlight for all of us! I'm sure we'll be back to the Drive-In again!
How about you? For any of my faithful readers or lurkers leave a comment and let me know if you've been to a Drive-In. It has been fun to hear people's Drive-In stories and I'm amazed at the amount of people who have never been to one!

We used to go to the Drive In all the time in Omaha when I was little. I'm pretty sure we saw Star Wars there for the first time...I think I just dated myself. We all thought Wall E was adorable and it looks like your kiddos had a blast....good job remembering the camera.
I haven't been to a drive in... Since they are a little before my time there aren't any still running near by. Looks like loads of fun!
Ryan and I have been to the drive in and the "dive in". . those are pretty fun too! Are your kids walking around the house saying, "WallE, Eva" like mine are? Hope the first day of school went well!!!! Oh, and I love those pop rocks. . great pic of Emma's expression!!
Our family used to go to the Drive-In in Yuma. We'd take a brown grocery bag filled with popcorn from home. It had a playground in front of the screen where we could play until the 'candy started dancing across the screen' and during intermission. (I think they always showed double features.) Fun idea! I think there's still one in Scottsdale--we should take the kids when it cools down. :)
HOW FUN!!!!!!
Your kids are soooo beautiful - and it looks like they all had a blast!
I haven't been to a drive in in years...but I have very fond memories of them.
Very cool!
Def love the drive in when I was a child ... I think our closest one is about an hour away ... May have to make it an adventure ... your blessings are adorable .. thanks for stopping by my blog .. have a blessed week ...
We used to live only a few miles from a drive in. I would love to take the kids to one! The only one I know of now is a bit far, but maybe we should check into it. Looks like you had loads of fun! What a great idea with the pillows and such.
My grandparents took me quite often to kids movies there. I remember my parents taking me to grown up movies. I'd get to watch the cartoon that they'd have first, then I had to lay down in the back seat with lots of "go to sleeps!" They had a playground, too. Fun times!
Oh how fun! We just drove past a drive-in last weekend! I was just remembering how fun they were as a little kid...glad you had a great time!
You got some great shots!!! Glad you had such a fun weekend!
Oh I am so glad you took pics of this special memory. Love it:)
