Painting With Friends

When Alexa and Emma were sick a couple of weeks ago their preschool had an Family Night that we missed. A local Pottery Place in town came and all the kids painted a square. This is the first year the preschool is open and so the first classes there are going to have a little wall made out of all their tiles. The girls have made a special little bond with a little girl in each of their classes that happen to be sisters. They have become the best of friends. They also missed the Family Night so we went with them to paint the girls tiles for the wall. They had so much fun painting together.

A Day At The Spa

We are finally all better over here. Alexa's fever ended up breaking after 14 days. Her poor little body is still recovering. She is still really tired but we are very happy to be out in the real world again. When the girls were sick we had a little Spa Day. I found these little kits and eye masks in the $1 section at Target. After being sick for over a week I thought it might be fun for them to be pampered a little. We took bathes, curled hair, did toes, sprayed glitter lotion on and relaxed with eye masks. The girls were full of giggles and loved every minute of the pampering. Shane was a little disappointed that he didn't get his toes done. I don't think daddy would have been too impressed if he ended up with some pink toes with flowers on them. I'm sure we'll be playing spa more often.

What Have We Been Up To?

What have we been up to lately? We have been hit!! Eric and I were able to get away for night on Easter weekend and the kids stayed at my parents. I should have never said it but I did. As we were driving I commented on what a great winter we had. We really had no sick kids besides Emma throwing up after eating one of my birth control pills (you can read about that in an earlier post). We had a wonderful time and little did we know that it would be really treasured because of the days to come. Alexa started running a temp on Friday and on our way home on Sunday Emma threw up. Needless to say the week ended up to be quite long!
Shane and Emma started running fevers on Monday so all 3 kids have been sick ever since. Alexa is going on day 12 of a fever and nasty respiratory stuff. Shane and Emma had an 8 day fever along with the respiratory stuff. Shane and Emma were fever free today so we were jumping up and down. We are praying Alexa will join them tomorrow and that life will be back to normal really soon.

We have spent our days cuddling on the couch, watching movies, fixing puzzles when they felt like it, playing some low key games and taking long naps. The only outing of the week last week was to the doctor. Eric chased me out of the house quite a bit this weekend so I did feel refreshed and ready to take on the sick little ones again this week.

The highlight of the kids morning was taking bubble bathes. Since we had no time limits they loved taking really long bathes all by themselves. They are used to taking them all together to save time. We had all the time in the world this week so there were days they had 2 bubble bathes. Don't you just love Shane's rosy fever cheeks? I don't think they even remember what clothes are. They would take a bath and jump right into new pj's.

We now have stock in ibuprofen! We have gone through 4 bottles to date, 2 bottles of Tylenol and 2 bottles of cough medicine. I wish I would have taken a picture of the medicine line-up. They would line up and we'd go right down the line.

To top off the week we had quite a bit of snow. Isn't spring ever going to get here?

Easter At Papa And Grammy's House

We had a wonderful Easter at Papa and Grammy's House. As you can see there are 6 little ones 6 and under so we did our best to get a picture of all of them looking somewhat adorable. We spent that night at the my brother's house so the kids didn't get the best night of sleep. They sure did have fun though. We all went to church on Sunday morning to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior.

The kids had fun discovering their treats from papa and grammy in their Easter baskets. The girls loved their pj's and Shane was into his Teddy Grahams.

The Easter Egg hunt took place inside since it was snowing and quite cold outside. The kids didn't seem to mind at all!

The kids finished their day with a yummy bunny cookie and then a long nap!

An Easter Favorite

The kids love getting out the Resurrection Eggs and Benjamin's Box book at Easter. It is a wonderful hands on way for kids to learn the Easter Story. They have so much fun opening up each egg and discovering what symbol is in it. It is fun to hear them tell the story in their own words now since we have read through it a couple times this week. I snagged some pictures of the 3 as Alexa was pretending to be the "mom" and was going through the book and eggs with her siblings. She did a great job explaining what each symbol stood for.

Hope you have a Happy Easter!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...1 Peter 1:3

Easter Egg Fun

The kids had so much fun dying Easter eggs this week. Alexa, our little artist had so much fun drawing creations on her eggs that would show up after she dyed them. Emma just couldn't decided what color would be the best. She decided there were way too many to choose from. Shane loved watching his eggs turn color. He watch super as close as you can see by the picture. I love the excitement that childred have about life and the little things like dying Easter eggs. I hope you are able to find the excitement of a child about Jesus' ressurection this Easter weekend!

Easter Cookies

The kids love making cookies and decorating them. They were especially excited to make Easter cookies this year because they got some new cookie cutters that imprinted the design on the cookie. Papa and Grammy had gone on a trip and brought the cookie cutters back for them. Emma thought the cookies were beautiful. Alexa worked diligently to frost them as you can see by her striped egg and Shane was all about eating the dough, frosting, sprinkles and finally the cookie.
